Spar Aerospace Limited recently signed a $2.3 million contract through the Canadian Commercial Corporation to provide grapple fixtures to NASA's Space Shuttle program.
Grapple fixtures are the standard interface points that allow the Shuttle Remote Manipulator System (Canadarm) to grasp and manoeuvre satellites in proximity to the Space Shuttle. Spar will manufacture, test and deliver 53 so called Flight Releasable Grapple Fixtures by October 1996.
