| MISSION STATEMENT: | Bubble Technology Industries (BTI), founded in April 1988, is a federally incorporated company located in Chalk River, Ontario. Originally spun off by the Atomic Energy of Canada, its current staff consists of scientists, technologists, marketing, sales and support personnel. The companyÕs technical expertise is in physics, chemistry and engineering. Its activities cover manufacturing, research and development and support services related to detection and measurement of ionizing radiation. Its clients are radiation-related organizations world-wide.
BTI is continuing to expand its core business through increased share of identified markets. New products for exciting new markets are a t development stages and the company is gradually achieving its goal of becoming a major supplier of equipment and services to radiation-related clients, both in Canada and around the World. |
| ACTIVITIES / PRODUCTS/ FACILITIES / SERVICES: | BTI has commercialized its unique bubble technology bringing forward two major products: a bubble neutron dosimeter and a bubble neutron spectrometer. Many thousands of these detectors are in use in research laboratories, nuclear utilities, hospitals and departments of defence. These detectors have provided critical measurements of space radiation in space programs involving CSA, NASA, ESA and Russia and are widely used as personal dose management tools by radiation workers. BTI has developed and commercialized two leading-edge electronic products: ROSPEC is a completely unique neutron spectrometer that has been accepted as a secondary reference standard for quantifying neutron spectra in both military and civilian applications; MICROSPEC has been adopted by the nuclear facility decommissioning community because of its ease of use, extreme portability and cost effectiveness.
BTI has recognized opportunities for growth in the delivery of radiation measurement services and has enthusiastically capitalized on these opportunities. BTI performs alpha, beta and gamma spectrometry, gross alpha-beta counting, liquid scintillation counting, and radiation surveys. The company's competence in dosimetry is most clearly manifested by the fact that BTI provides the only private sector third party TLD badge-reading service in Canada, offering a distinct alternative to the service provided by the Government of Canada through its Department of Health and Welfare. BTI consults for and advises major regulatory and military groups including NCRP, ISO, NATO, CSA and others, providing expertise in a wide range of radiation related matters. |
