Senior Product Designer

Remote (US)

Conveyor is on a mission to be the network for building trust around security. We empower our users who are building trust to be more proactive with their security communication, saving time and optimizing their impact. And for our users that are evaluating the trustworthiness of their vendors, we get them the critical information they need to be confident in those vendors faster. Your job as a product designer will be to foster and strengthen these connections through powerful and dare we say magical experiences. We aim to be a product-led growth company so design is heavily influential here.

You’ll be the second member of the design team, reporting to our Design Manager and working in tight-knit collaboration with an incredible team of product managers and engineers. You’ll be expected to own the entire design process for your projects, from brainstorming and ideation, to research and validation, to supporting engineering during delivery. As a fast-paced, early-stage startup, no two days are the same so an excitement for figuring out new challenges and adaptability are a must.

Curious what it’s like to be a designer at Conveyor?  This quote from Inspired sums it up well.

Ch 11: "[T]he modern product designer sits side by side with his or her product manager, a full partner with the product manager on product discovery. Rather than being measured on the output of their design work, the product designer is measured on the success of the product.”

You might be a good fit if:

  • You feel deeply satisfied when you untangle a complicated problem.
  • Talking to customers about their problems energizes you. You’re driven to understand the “why” behind their requests or insights.
  • You view collaboration and feedback as integral parts of reaching the best solution and being the best designer and colleague that you can be. You’re invested in fostering psychological safety on the team, and comfortable being vulnerable when you need help or support.
  • You don’t enjoy running off gut instinct but prefer to validate your decisions, and know how to go about doing so.
  • You’re opinionated but practical, and know how to balance short term gains and long term vision. You have a keen sense on what tools or tactics to deploy to have the most impact toward a desired outcome.  You’re comfortable with rapid iteration when the situation calls for it.
  • You’re a good communicator, and know how to get the team excited about your vision and the potential it unlocks for our business.
  • You do not cut corners when it comes to security - we’re building trust here, after all.

Nice to have, but not required:

  • Experience with Figma
  • An interest in illustration

You might not be a good fit if:

  • You value aesthetics over function
  • You prefer to work alone as a one-designer island, and like operating in an environment with clear handoffs between product, design, and engineering
  • You need strong direction in order to do your best work
  • You are uncompromising about the purity of your design vision
  • You want to focus primarily on one stage of the design process at this stage of your career

The target salary range for this position is $110,000 - $150,000/year with additional equity, based on experience and skill level.

You do not need a background or any expertise in security, just an appetite for designing in a complex domain.

Also, we know it’s tough, but please try to avoid the confidence gap. You don’t have to match all the listed requirements exactly to be considered for this role.
